Paranormal Evidence without Dogma!

Frequency (cont.)

The reason that would be significant is that normal human speech would measure between approximately 350 hz to 3500 hz. Trouble with that hypothesis is during my second evp recording session I recorded evps that measured within normal human speaking range and that pattern has consistently repeated itself. The evp(s) that measured within normal human speech frequencies were 100% unexplained voice recordings as I was alone during their recording. Additionally, the voices spoke very close to the microphone, and the evps were Class A, meaning there were fully audible with no enhancements. The evps were also analyzed by objective third parties who confirmed the voices weren't mine.

Our evidence doesn't support that all evps can be identified through unique frequency measurements. This is important to note.

When recording evp, I've employed some procedures to help ensure we're not recording the voices or murmers of those alive and present. I can't express enough how many times I was listening to my audio recordings, and finding voices I was "positive" didn't belong to anyone with me, only to match it up to someone when reviewing the video from that session.

A good example is when listening to some audio, I plainly heard a whispered "hello." I knew I'd not whispered hello, nor my friend. Upon review of the video from that exact moment, I noticed I sighed at the exact time the hello was heard in the audio. Some would say this was an alleged voice hi-jacking (when a spirit modulates your voice to speak) but I could tell this wasn't the case. Debunked! *We are not dismissing the over all validity of voice hi-jacking.

I've also found what I at first thought were unexplained voices in the audio were only the muffled words of someone in the room who was not close to device microphones. If I'd not video taped the session, I'd have possibly mistaken it for evp, since without the video I had. Paranormal researchers should be aware that it's possible not to remember every word spoken throughout an investigation. It's also important to note that when the group separates into differant parts of a location, voices carry and will NOT SOUND like you know someone to sound when the voice s recorded on a device in another room upon review. Most of the time, BUT NOT ALL OF THE TIME, audio enhancements WILL NOT RENDER THE 'unexplained' voice recognizable.

TIPS:

  • Do not use old tapes when recording.
  • Video tape your evp recording sessions.
  • Do not break off into separate groups within the same location during a paranormal investigation.
  • Wear headphones when listening to evps

Vocal Chord Striations

I recently became aquainted with a lady, Annie Carissimi, who conducts EVP research. She asserts evps can be identified through the spectral images because evps lack the image indicative to vocal chord striations. I plan to meet with her soon to learn how she does this. If she can identify evp through a computer program's spectrogram feature this would be a groundbreaking discovery.

I've always believed someone would arrive on the paranormal scene, with the bells and whistles, i.e. the technology, to validate what paranormal investigators have been asserting for a long time, that electronic voice phenomena is real, and that we are spoken to by disembodied voices. Is Annie that person? I sure hope so. Check back for updates!
